OBITUARY Heather Brae Bakos January 1, 1976 – September 29, 2018 BAKOS, Heather Brae (nee Morvant) It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Heather Brae Bakos announces her passing on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the age of 42 years. Heather will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 12 years, David, her treasured children, Braeden Thomas, and Samantha Brae; her mother Linda Cope (Paul), her father Clif (Cindy), her step-brother Brian (Katie), her step-siblings Sharon and Paul, her in-laws Denise and Windsor, her brother-in-law Shawn, her extended family, and many dear friends. A native of Vienna, Virginia, Heather attended George C. Marshall High School and Longwood University, and devoted her life to public service, first as a Senate Page in Virginia House of Delegates, and later as a contracting officer with the US Transportation Security Agency and US Patent and Trade Office. Heather’s life was centered around her deep love for David, Braeden, and Samantha, and days spent traveling with them and her nearest and dearest on cruises, to the beach, and around the world, brought her immeasurable joy, as did the DC sports teams she followed with a passion throughout her life. Her radiance, kindness, compassion, wit, and sense of humor will be forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service in remembrance of Heather will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. A funeral mass will follow on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm, at St. Bernadette Parish, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield VA, 22151.
