Obituary for Harry Rufleth Harry George Rufleth, age 66, of Chester, CT, died on Sunday, October 14, 2018, after a long illness. Harry was born in Meriden on April 2, 1952, and grew up in Westbrook and Clinton, attending public schools in Clinton, Artesia College in New Mexico and the University of Tucson. Harry was a successful restaurateur in West Hartford and Avon before relocating to Hawaii, then returning to live on the Connecticut shoreline to be closer to his family. He was a magical gardener, an enthusiastic fisherman and an avid skier. He cultivated and maintained his many relationships with cherished friends, and they supported him through his illness. He is survived by his son, Maxwell H Rufleth (Lauren Franza), of Columbia, CT, his daughter, Margaret J Rufleth (Andy Gilbert), of Glastonbury, two step-daughters, Elizabeth and Siana Mahoney, and his granddaughter, Irie Rufleth. He also leaves his brother, William Rufleth, of Clinton, his sister-in-law Ursula, and four nieces and a nephew. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, October 20th at 1:00 at his brother’s home in Clinton.
