Harriet C Corbin Steeves 2018

Harriet C. Steeves passed away on October 17, 2018 at her home. A resident of Nahant for 68 years, she is survived by her three children and their families. She is the wife of the late Robert W. Steeves. Harriet served the Town of Nahant and its residents as Town Clerk from 1974 through 2009. She served as the first female Dog Officer in the Town of Nahant. As Justice of the Peace serving from 1976 to 2003, she is credited with 207 marriages. She was also active in the Nahant Village Church, sharing her musical talents in the choir and as flutist. She maintained a life-long passion for sailing, and served as a Commodore for the Nahant Dory Club. She was a member of the Nahant Garden Club and the Historical Society. A memorial service will be held at the Nahant Village Church, Cliff Street, Nahant, on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 1 PM. A celebration of her life will be sometime in the Spring.
