OBITUARY Gerald Wayne Phillips June 4, 1940 – October 23, 2018 Gerald Wayne Phillips was born June 4, 1940 in Texarkana, Texas and went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2018 in Tyler, Texas at the age of 78. Gerald served his country in the USMC reserves for 5 years, was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday School teacher for over 25 years, and was an installer for Western Electric and AT&T until retirement. Gerald loved playing golf. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel Phillips and Leath Fern Baird, and by his brother, Eddy Reid Baird. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Anne Phillips of Pittsburg, Texas; children: Danny Wayne Phillips of Waxahachie, Texas, Suanne Edwards of Arlington, Texas, Joetta Martin of Montgomery, Texas and Jeri Anne Cox and husband Terry of Montgomery, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2018 from noon until 2pm. The celebration of life service will start at 2pm in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Randy Stracner officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers for the service will be: Randall Martin, Jordan Stephens, Joshua Stephens, Terry Cox, Stoney Hodges, Matt Hodges and Bill Harris.
