Gerald “Jerry” J. Poniske of West Chester, OH, age 93, passed away surrounded by his family on October 6, 2018. He was the beloved husband of 72 years to Carol Jean (nee’ Hilpert) Poniske, loving daddy to David (Kathy) Poniske, Jewel (Bert) Tieben, Clare (Michael) Austin, and Amy Poniske, proud Grandee to Richard, Robert, Jade, Jared, Paige, and his great grandchildren, Kennedy and Harlow, treasured brother to Dorothy Knapp, Georgie Kassman, and Mona Fernandez. Jerry proudly served our country in the United States Navy during WWII, was Commander of the Catholic War of Veterans in Belleville, IL, a Vice President of F.D. Lawrence Electric Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a longtime member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in West Chester, OH. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., West Chester, OH 45069 at 12:00 PM, where family and friends will be received from 11 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contribution be directed to the Butler County Ohio Soldiers, Sailors, and Pioneers Monument, c/o Butler County Historical Society Monument Restoration Fund, 327 North 2nd St., Hamilton, OH 45011, or to the Dementia Society of America, P.O.
