Gene Shepherd, age 88 of LaVergne, TN and formerly of the Little Trace Community in Clay County, TN passed away Friday evening, October 19, 2018 at the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. Gene is at the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN. Graveside Services & Interment for Gene Shepherd will be conducted Monday morning, October 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. from the Whitley Cemetery with Gary Wilder officiating. Visitation with the family will begin Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. until his service at 11 a.m. from the Whitley Cemetery. Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Steve Boone of LaVergne, TN; sons & daughters-in-law, Jonathan & Martha Shepherd of Lebanon, TN, Philip & Deborah Shepherd of Stockbridge, GA, David & Ellen Shepherd of McDonough, GA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
