Fayrae “Happy” Manning age 80 of White Pigeon, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Friday morning October 5, 2018 at her home. She was born May 14, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn ( ) Hinch. Happy resided in White Pigeon for the past 13 years coming from Harvard, Illinois where she lived for 20 years. She had also lived in Blue Island, Illinois and her early life was spent in Chicago, Illinois. She was first married to Don Soucek.… Read More » This marriage ended in divorce. Ten years after her divorce on February 2, 1972 she married Roy Manning at the First Presbyterian Church in Beverly, Illinois. Happy had worked as a waitress for many years and also as a secretary at a pharmacy and she was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the two terms she served as President of the Lake Whabememe Association and cooking. Happy had a true love for her many dogs and cats and loved time at the lake. She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 46 years: Roy; two sons: Ted Soucek of Three Rivers and Mark (Rebecca) Soucek of Akron, Ohio; step-daughter: Dina Manning of San Diego, California; three grandchildren: Alvaro Soucek, Eva Soucek and Carl Soucek; one sister: Joy Mlady of Plainfield, Illinois; step-brother: Raymond Hinch of Cleveland, Ohio; cousins: Joan Rogers of Illinois, Jim Hinch of Florida, Ed Hinch of Arizona and Nancy Hinch of California and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial services celebrating the life of Fayrae “Happy” Manning will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Michael Wicks will officiate. Private placement of the ashes will take place at the First Presbyterian Columbarium. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
