OBITUARY Eugenia L. Smithson October 9, 1929 – October 24, 2018 Eugenia L. Smithson, 89, of Fort Smith passed from this life October 24, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born October 9, 1929, in Midland, Arkansas to the late Charles J. and Lois Council Whisenhunt. Eugenia worked for Dixie Cup and later retired from the South Sebastian County Water Users Association as Office Manager. She was a member at Trinity Baptist Church. Eugenia is survived by one daughter, Deawn Gatlin and husband Mark; and their daughter, Skyler Gatlin of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Steven Smithson of Van Buren and Heather Smithson of Plumas Lake, California; and their mother, Debbie Smithson; and one great granddaughter, Keira Smithson of Plumas Lake, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. “Bill” Smithson, Jr.; her son, Terry Smithson; as well as her brothers, Paul, Cleo, Aubrey and JC Whisenhunt. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:30pm Friday October 26, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Steven Smithson, Mark Gatlin, Rick Gatlin, Ron Whisenhunt, Claude Lochner and Joe Taylor. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
