Obituary of Eugene Grant Eugene “Gene” Grant, Jr. August 13, 1954 ~ October 18, 2018 Eugene Grant, Jr., 64, Marion, passed away at 9:14 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. He was born in Birmingham, AL, to the late Eugene Grant Sr., and Mary Louise (King) Grant, on August 13, 1954. He married, Nancy Lewis in 2009, she survives. Gene was a forklift operator at Atlas Foundry where he was formerly the President of the Union Local #446. He was a devoted member of the House of Worship for All People where he was the President of the church board. Gene loved to cook everything, watched cooking shows and was an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He had a big heart, was giving, caring and a loving brother. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughters, Amanda Grant, Lachrisha Lewis, West Columbia, SC.; brother, Carl (Elaine) Grant, Marion; mother-in-law, Christine Lewis, Marion; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bobby Frank Meggs, Tyrone Askew, and maternal grandfather, Andrew (Emma Shepard) Jackson. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 11-1 at the House of Worship for All People located at 1824 S. Branson, Marion, IN 46953. Services for Gene will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the House of Worship with Elder Thomas L. Nukes officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions can be made to the House of Worship for All People. Online condolences may be made at www.nswcares.com.
