Dorothy C. McWilliams, 63, of Rockford, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. Born August 27, 1955 in Rockford, the daughter of Albert & Marie (Huene) Berry. Graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1973. Married Ed McWilliams in Rockford on April 1, 1978. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She worked for Amerock/Newell Rubbermaid for 30 years. Survivors include husband, Ed; son, Dan; daughter Mary; grandchildren Dominick and… Read More » Vincent Rodriguez; brother, John Berry; sisters, Carolyn Berry and Ann Fields as well as many beloved brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Dorothy a devout Chicago Bears fan loved motorcycle rides and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She is known among her family and friends for her kindness, generosity, empathy and strength. Despite her long battle with cancer, Dorothy hardly complained and always put her family first. Her struggle is now over and she will be truly missed. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave, Rockford, IL 61103. Visitation Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL. 61103 and from 9 to time of Mass Friday at church. In lieu of flowers memorials to Cancer Research Institute @ https://www.cancerresearch.org.
