OBITUARY Doris Tuttle Walker August 15, 1935 – September 25, 2018 WALKER, Doris Tuttle, 83, of Bumpass, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Vernon” Walker Sr.; son, William “Billy” Walker Jr.; parents, Melvin and Louise Tuttle; and brother, Melvin “Jim” Tuttle. She retired from the U.S. government and enjoyed spending her time playing games such as Scrabble and Yahtzee, as well as cooking for her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Cran (Michael) and Donna Miles (Doug); grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Holly and Heather Cran, and Shelly Grizzel; brother, William “Ed” Tuttle (Doris); devoted sister-in-law, Lois Herndon; loving friend, Catherine Hall; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaverdam Fire Department or West Hanover EMS.
