Obituary for Mrs. Donna S. Ballard Donna S. Ballard, 68, of Columbus, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker and enjoyed being with family and playing cards. Donna was born September 2, 1950 in Columbus, the daughter of Luther and Nellie Hill Johnson. She married Powell Ballard on September 26, 1964. The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Dale Lucas officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children. She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Johnson; mother, Nellie Hill Dowden; a son, Timothy Ballard; granddaughter, Autumn Long; brothers, Raymond Johnson, Edward Johnson and James “Doc” Johnson; and her sisters, Patricia Burris and Wanda Rose Johnson.
