Diane Wakefield 2018

Wakefield, Diane Elizabeth Adkisson, Age 68 passed away on October 7, 2018. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, Jerry Thomas Wakefield. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Herman Samuel Adkisson and Jean Bryson Kennell, and also a brother Herman Samuel (Skip) Adkisson. She is survived by her children Deanna (David) Wakefield Campbell and Jerry Wakefield Jr.; grandchildren Elizabeth (Randle) Alignamath, Zachary Skyler Wakefield, and Riley Grace Campbell; great granddaughter Jubilee Faye Alignamath. Like a daughter Melody Green and sister Susan Adkisson Harris and brother William B. Leptic, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Diane, also known as Nina, was a loving and hard-working wife and mom. She also worked many years for the Metro School Board as an administrative assistant/financial secretary at Hume-Fogg High School and Stratford High School. Her hobbies included cross stitching, reading, and decorating for all the holidays. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Dalewood Baptist Church for many years, where she taught children’s Sunday School. Visitation will be at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Rd., on Thursday, October 11 from 10:00-12:30. The service will be in our chapel at 12:30 conducted by Dr. Ivan Sheffield. Interment will be immediately following at Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro or El Bethel Baptist Church, Shelbyville, TN.
