DAVID E. SMITH Age 75 Ellsworth- Services celebrating the life of David Smith will be held at 11am Tuesday October 30th at the Ellsworth Community Church. Dave died Tuesday morning at Salem Hospital. Dave was born on March 10, 1943, the son of Charles and Mildred (Craig) Smith and lived his entire life in Ellsworth prior to moving to Salem in 2017. Dave graduated from Western Reserve High School and was a member of Ellsworth Community Church. He retired in 2006 from Heckett Engineering where he was a heavy equipment operator; he was also owner operator of Smith-Light Trucking. Dave had formerly been a member of the Ellsworth Fire Department and loved to go to auctions with his wife. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Ann (McDaniel’s) whom he married May 8, 1965, son Joe (Kay) Smith of Berlin Center, grandchildren Alexandria (Jacob) Hoover, Emily and Levi Smith and great granddaughter Isabella Hoover. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Tim. Family and friends may call from 4-6 pm Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel. The Smith family request memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Ellsworth Community Church.
