Daniel Stephen Wade, age 74, of Marion, NC passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home, with his loving wife at his bedside. She lost her love, her heart and her soul that day. Mr. Wade was born August 23, 1944 in Binghamton, NY to the late Charles Finn Wade and Florence Werthamer Wade. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard where he served 4 years in active service and 2 years in reserve. He worked for E.I. Dupont as a Senior Service Engineer for 17 years until his retirement in 2006. Mr. Wade was a simple man who didn’t like a fuss made over him. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 35 years, Cynthia Carroll Wade; one step-daughter, April Jackson of the home; one step-son, Wayne Jackson of Durham, NC; one brother, David Charles Wade of Bainbridge, NY; one brother-in-law, Michael Carroll of Timberlake, NC; two granddaughters, Sydney and Lillian Dodson of Richmond, VA; two nieces; two nephews; and many extended family members of Lakewood in Marion, NC. The family would like to say “Thank You” to Care Partners Hospice & Palliative Care McDowell for the special love and care shown to Mr. Wade and his family. In keeping with Mr. Wade’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
