Curtiss W Grimes 1931 2016

Life Story for Curtiss Grimes Curtiss W. Grimes, age 85, pf Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Madison, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland. He was born January 10, 1931 in Madison, the son of Lowell and Bea Allen Grimes. Mr. Grimes was a graduate of Madison High School and worked in the food services industry as an ice cream maker. He formerly worked for Farm Stores and retired from Publix supermarket chain, both in Florida. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Madison, and the Knights of Columbus. He was honorably discharged from the Indiana National Guard in 1957. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Lynn Williams of Little Elm, Texas, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Elizabeth H. ‘Betsy” Hass on July 31, 1994, and one daughter, Leigh Ann Grimes on May 21, 2009. A memorial Mass will be conducted at at a later date at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, with interment in Saint Patrick Cemetery to follow. The date and time will be announced. The family requests memorial contributions be made to King’s Daughters’ Hospital Hospice. Contributions can be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations or the church.
