Obituary for Mrs. Betty Thrasher Bussey A funeral service for Mrs. Betty Thrasher Bussey, 87, of Oxford, will be on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Vaughn, Dale Hollingsworth and Blaise Adams officiating. The family will receive friends on the same day from 1:00 pm until service time. A burial will follow the service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Bynum. Mrs. Bussey passed away on October 3, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Ezell Hammond (Keith); grandchildren, Tonya Baker, Kim Gay, Robin Adams (Randy), Ginger Herren (Jackie), Keitha Mullinax (Shannon), Sonja Hammond, Stephanie Naylor (Jeremy); great grandchildren, Carly Frensley (Robert), Cole Herren (Jodi), Savanna Baker, Blaise Adams, Mekenzie Frain, Zack Hammond (Madison), Stephen Hammond (Nicole), Shanna Mullinax, Skylar Naylor, Colby Naylor, Kimmie Naylor; great great grandchild, Cadence Ford, Zayden Hammond, Addelyn Hammond; best friends forever, Jewel Williams, Mary Lou Faulkner and Judy McKnight; fur baby, Marley, and a host of extended family members and friends, including a very special nephew, Bruce Ellison (Denise). She is preceded in death by her husband, Bartley Bussey; father, Ralph Thrasher; mother, Essie Knighton; children, Susan Ezell Reaves, Scott Ezell, Jonathan Ezell; grandson, Andy Baker, and a sister, Vera Ellison. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mrs. Bussey was a member of Coldwater Baptist Church. She loved and adored her church family. Mrs. Bussey was the kind of woman who put others, especially her family, before herself. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Mrs. Bussey came from times where material items were scarce, but she never let anyone leave her house without a doily that she had crocheted. She had seen hard times in her life, but she was an overcomer and always such an encourager. Mrs. Bussey touched many lives in her lifetime and will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff with AlaCare Hospice and to Dr. Hanna, who she loved and adored.
