Alvin K. Christiansen, age 80, of McHenry, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Alden Terrace. He was born November 12, 1937, in Algona, IA to Mads and Edith (Peterson) Christiansen. Alvin lived in Bella Vista, AR, since 2000, but has been a resident of McHenry for the last four years. He was a Vice President at Continental Bank. Alvin is survived by his two daughters, Gayle (Matt) Richards, Kay Ann (Paul) Blaszczyk; his son, James (Christal) Christiansen; eight grandchildren, Sean and Kira Richards, Luke, Sarah, and Katie Blaszczyk, Madeline, Annemarie, and Caroline Christiansen; two brothers, Paul (Debbie) Christiansen, Wayne (Jan) Christiansen; his sister Jean (Dennis) Miller; and his brother-in-law, Harvey Julius. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his sister, Edye Julius. Friends and neighbors may gather from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
