Mrs. Alice Davis Partee was born January 15, 1923, in Madison, Mississippi to the late Willie Walker Davis and Angie Clark Davis. She departed this life at 5:43 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Alice Partee professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church. She served as the oldest mother, a choir member, kitchen hospitality ministry. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was employed with Jackson Public School System and retired after 25 years of devoted service. She was a culinary lead. She was married to the love of her life Lawyer Partee Sr. for 33 years. She was affectionally called several names: Ed, Mrs. Partee, Aunt Alice, Mama, and MeMe. Alice Partee was a very sweet person from humbling beginnings. She was known for her cooking style and culinary insight. Whenever you visited her home, you were always met with a smile and her immediate offer to you for something to eat. Her specialty was homemade cinnamon rolls, yeast rolls and all sorts of desserts. She worked at Brown Elementary School cafeteria and contributed to the backing team. She made other delicious delicacies for staff and students enjoyments. As a self-taught culinary artist, Alice Partee was really good at reading recipes and experimenting with her own cooking recipe style. Gaining a reputation for her cooking and baking. Alive Partee was sometimes asked to supervise the work of other staff cooks. She sometimes experimented with healthier recipes but always returned back to the good ole fashion cooking she was use to and what she grew up to know. She taught her family about food, but more importantly about its ability to bring us closer together. The Partee and Davis family and the many friends both near and far will miss her presence tremendously. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home – Jackson, MS. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church located at 852 Madison, MS 39110.
