Obituary for William Morris “Butch” Singletary William Morris “Butch” Singletary, age 72, of Tallahassee, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road. Memorial gifts in memory of Butch may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Butch was born in Brawley, CA but was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and a 1963 graduate of Florida State University School. He worked for the City of Tallahassee for many years and then he and his father established Singletary Construction. He enjoyed music, electronics and reading and most importantly, Butch was kind and gentle and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Faye Singletary of Tallahassee; daughter, Melinda (Karl) Handverger of Tallahassee; son, Chip (Randy) Singletary of Tallahassee; mother, Jeannette Singletary of Tallahassee; two brothers, Richard M. (Kathy) Singletary and Larry A. (Darllene) Singletary of Tallahassee; two sisters, Elizabeth (Ken) Anderson of Thomasville and Barbara Chrisinger of Tallahassee; three grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Waldrop of Tallahassee; Brittney (Jeff) Timberlake of Fort Mitchell, AL and Cassie Handverger of Tallahassee and three great-grandchildren, Abby, Cooper and McKinzey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Singletary and Juanita Luker Singletary and two sisters, Kathy Hogenson and Lyn Rafnel.
