OBITUARY William C. Smith July 27, 1931 – August 16, 2018 William (Bill) Carlton Smith passed away August 16, 2018. Bill was born July 27, 1931 in Oklahoma City. He and his wife Betty, celebrated 64 years of happy married life in January 2018. They moved to Amarillo in March of 1959 with two children, Carla and Nolden. He became a faithful member of Christian Heritage Church. He joined the Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. Bill was a retired electrician from local # 602. He was a member of the Myrtle Lodge #145 in Oklahoma City for 62 years. Bill loved Bluegrass music and played in several bands, including Tri-State Bluegrass Express, West Texas and Red River. He was currently playing at the BigTexas Steak Ranch. He was a member of the Panhandle Bluegrass Old-Tyme Music Association. The family suggest in lieu of flowers donations be made to Christian Heritage Church 900 S. Nelson Amarillo, TX 79104. He is preceded in death by his parents Reedy Sr and Willie May, three brothers, sister in law Jerry and Sherry, Brock and Mary Ann, Reedy Jr and Charlotte, mother and father in law Chester and Hazel, two grandchildren Keri and Larry; great grandson Wyatt and a very much loved son in law Lee. He is survived by Betty, Carla, Nolden, Jan, Jean, Karlton, Melissa, Laynelee, Janice, Angel, Gary, Wesley, Hoyt, six nephews, one niece, and many other relatives.
