Obituary for Wilfredo Marrero Wilfredo Marrero, age 74 of Stratford, husband of Maria Marrero, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Wilfredo was born November 28, 1943 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, the beloved son of the late Tomas Marrero & Angela Ortiz. He was a great man; a loving and dedicated son, brother, father, grandfather, and husband. Wilfredo was very social, helpful, and had an amazing sense of humor. He enjoyed chatting with his neighbors and always gave the best advice. Wilfredo was a huge baseball fan and used to play when he was younger. Some of his hobbies included collecting classic model cars, playing dominos and cards, and of course watching his favorite team, the New York Mets, play baseball. Above all, Wilfredo was a devout Catholic and man of God. He attended Mass regularly and prayed on his Rosary. He will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing him. In addition to his wife, Maria, of 42 years, Wilfredo is survived by his: 3 children: son, Wilfredo Marrero & daughter-in-law Danielle Marrero of Virgina; daughter, Wilmarie Marrero of Virgina; Wilza Cordero & son-in-law Anthony Cordero of Ansonia; 6 brothers: Tomas Marrero, Juan Marrero, Mario Marrero, Ramon Marrero, Antonio Marrero, Raul Marrero; 3 sisters: Julia Marrero, Ramona Marrero, Carmen Marrero; 3 grandchildren: Joshua Cordero, Jacob Cordero, Isabella Cordero; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
