Walter Britt Kirby, 92, of Fortson, GA passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, August 17, 2018 beginning at 11:00 A.M. EST, with Rev. Jimmy Culpepper officiating. The interment will conclude the service at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2018 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. EST. Walter Britt Kirby was born February 5, 1926 in Eufaula, AL to the parents of Robert E. Kirby and Ollie Bell Kirby. Walter was a member of Mountain Hill Baptist Church. Walter was also a member of the Freemasons. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will forever be missed. Other than his parents, Walter is predeceased by his wife, Annie Kirby; daughters Pamela Kirby Wilson and Sue Ann Clark; sister Louise Kirby; brothers T.A. Kirby, Robert Kirby and Tommy Kirby, and son in law, Otis Clark. Survivors include his sister, Ruby Cox Glean of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Kirby Wilson of Harris County, GA; Stephanie Michelle Jones of Harris County, GA and Otis “Rusty” Clark of Columbus, GA; great grandchildren, Austin Wilson Jones of Atlanta, GA and Baileigh Grace Jones of Harris County, GA. The family would also like to give a special thank you to the staff at River Towne Center in Columbus, GA for the care and love they gave to Mr. Kirby.
