Funeral services for Dolores resident Thomas “Tommy” Howard Blackmer will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Arriola Community Center. Mr. Linley Leonard will officiate. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5PM to 7PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Tommy was born April 4, 1951 in Cortez, CO to Helen Louise Wheeler and Frank Arthur Blackmer. Tommy married his wife, Sherrie (Majors) Blackmer on June 18, 1970 at Arriola Bible Church. He was a member of the Southwest Colorado Livestock Association, Montezuma Valley Irrigation Board, and the Future Farmers of America Board. Tommy enjoyed carpentry, welding, hunting, building things, and loved being a Granddad. Surviving Tommy are his wife, Sherrie Blackmer of Dolores, CO; his children, Matthew Blackmer (Jerusha) of Morrison, CO, and Jason Blackmer (Karla Turner) of Dolores CO; his grandchildren, Ty Blackmer, Anne Blackmer, Jake Blackmer; his sister, Marie Swanner (Dick) of Dolores, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions can be made in his name at Dolores State Bank.
