Obituary for Theodore “Ted” Chamberlain Jr. Theodore E. “Ted” Chamberlain, Jr., 69, of Chambersburg, passed away after a brief illness Saturday evening, August 25, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by his family. Born July 28, 1949 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Theodore E., Sr. and Flo Irene Hummer Chamberlain. He was a 1967 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and served in the US Army from 1969 – 1971. Ted worked for 37 years at the former Minute Car Wash in Chambersburg, where he was known for his smile and his handlebar mustache. He also worked at Wilson College for 7 years. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where he enjoyed volunteering his time mowing grass. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Osler Chamberlain, whom he married December 11, 1971; his son, William L. Chamberlain and wife Jess; his daughter, Laura E. Chamberlain; and his grandson, Edward, all of Asheville, NC; and his sister, Rebecca Gensmer and husband Angelo of Zullinger, PA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Caroline E. Saxton will officiate. Private interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at the church.
