Terrence Ted Vallely 2018

Terrence “Ted” Vallely passed away on Wednesday August 29, 2018. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of Terrence and Grace Powers Vallely, beloved father of Debra Leavitt and her husband Christopher, Robert Vallely and his wife Nanette and Diane Vallely, the grandfather of Veronica and Luke Leavitt, Christine Austin and her husband John and Christopher Foreman and great-grandfather of Tyler and Cora. Ted leaves a sister, Rose Vestri, her husband John. Ted was also survived by his longtime companion and friend Katherine Alix. Ted lived in Cranston all of his adult life. He was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Cranston and was also active at St. Mark’s Church. Ted graduated from LaSalle Academy and attended Rhode Island School of Design. In his career he was a Display Designer and was considered innovative and creative. As a sideline he was a guest cartoonist for the Providence Journal, bringing humor about the local scene. Ted was a sports enthusiast and coached Cranston’s Budlong Baseball League. Ted will be remembered for his quick wit, humor, kindness and his ability to build large and small projects. Important to him was his family, friends and his commitment to his faith. His funeral is Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Dana Faber Cancer Research Center.
