Obituary for Susie B. Funchess Susie, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 with her best friend by her side. She was a native and longtime resident of Columbia, SC. Susie was a true Christian woman and an active member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. No matter what she was going through, Susie always had a warm smile and kind word to give you. Susie was a kind woman with a warm and loving soul who will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Carolyn Gilmore (James); close friends, Virginia Herring (Hunter), Paulette Barrs (Ralph); the Spearman Family; fur-baby, Cuddles; as well as many more friends. Susie is preceded in death by her parents, Lew and Daisy Butler; son, Marion Butler Funchess; her brother; and her grandparents. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Specialst of LA with special recognition to Kenyta Ruffin and Cindy O’Brian.
