Steven B Ayers 2018

Steven B. Ayers, 58, of Vienna passed away July 30, 2018 at the Marietta Memorial ER – Belpre Campus. He was born on March 7, 1960 in Parkersburg, WV and was the son of Patricia Harris Ayers of Parkersburg and the late Carroll Ayers. Steve graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1979 and had been a member of the school A Cappella choir. One of his earliest job was as a night watchman at the West Virginia Masonic Home where he enjoyed assisting the residents. He was also proud to by one of the youngest managers of Radio Shack, starting in his late teens. Steve worked in several capacities at Wal-Mart for many years prior to retiring. He was a member of the Williamstown Masonic Lodge #129 for over 35 years, had served as a Demolay Dad, was an Amateur Short-Wave Radio Operator for 40 years, member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics and member of the Summit United Methodist Church. He enjoyed photography and time with his family. In addition to his mother, Steven is survived by his wife Debbie L. Kennedy Ayers, their children, Ryan Ayers (Alissa) and son Elias of Parkersburg, Jennifer Kincaid (Joshua) and their children Madison, Jacob, McKinley, Sadie of Stanton, KY, Daniel Knapp (Beth) and son Tristan of Cross Lanes, Kristina Knapp of KY, sister Tanya Underwood (Butch) and their son Dean. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Rick Bourne officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites by Williamstown Masonic Lodge #129. Visitation will be 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 on Wednesday and from 10 – 11 on Thursday prior to the service.
