Steven J McLaughlin 2018

Obituary for Steven McLaughlin Steven J. McLaughlin, 59, formerly of North Irwin, died Monday, May 14, 2018, in Kingman, Ariz. He was born Oct. 15, 1958, in Greensburg, a son of the late Leo and Mabel “Babe” (Lewis) McLaughlin. He was a 1976 graduate of Norwin Senior High School. Upon attaining his journeyman papers in the mid 1980’s, he remained employed as a union carpenter for many years throughout the Colorado and Arizona areas. Although living out West the majority of his life, he remained a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, and found joy in meeting and spending time with many other out of state Pittsburgh fans. Steve will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors as well as his adventurous and daring personality. Surviving are four siblings, Michael McLaughlin and his wife, Bobbie, of Trafford, Patricia Castine and her husband, Donald, of West Newton, Edward McLaughlin, of Irwin, and Sue Ann Roberts and her husband, Jeff, of Greensburg; a nephew, Anthony Castine; and two nieces, Olivia Castine and Paige Roberts, along with several aunts and uncles. He is also survived by many cousins, two of whom supported him unconditionally throughout his life, not only as cousins, but as friends, John Banks and Scott McLaughlin. As he is laid to rest, we shall take with us this final thought “Death is the last chapter in time but the first chapter in eternal peace.” Family and friends are welcome to join in a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
