Obituary for Shirley Snead (Warfel ) Shirley W. Snead (nee Warfel), age 91, of Mt. Airy, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home. She was born December 22, 1926 in Pikesville, MD, the daughter of the late Robert Warfel and the late Anne E. Calvert (nee Talbott). She was the wife of the late Paul Perrygram Snead. She was an active member and secretary at St. Alphonsus. R.C. Church in Woodstock, MD. Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Devoted mother of Paula S. and husband Charles McKeever of Ashburn, VA, Patricia A. Snead of Eldersburg, William D. and Wife Charlotte Snead of St. Michaels, MD, Anne M. and Husband Walter Burkowske of Mt. Airy, Kimberly F. and Husband Michael Clare of Sykesville, Jane D. and Husband Jerry Scanlon of Mt. Airy. Loving Grandmother of David P. Gietka and wife Noelia Ovejero, Mary K. and Husband Guy Williams, Benjamin R. and wife Randi Clare and Tyler W. Snead. Also survived by Great-Grandchildren Robert P. Williams, Michael B. Williams and Reese B. Clare. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. A Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Rodrigues Catholic Church, 10800 Old Court Rd. Woodstock, MD 21163. Interment to follow in Church Cemetery.
