OBITUARY Shirley L. Henson February 19, 1935 – August 19, 2018 Shirley L. Henson, 83, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Manor Court in Peoria. She was born February 19, 1935 in Flora, IL to Miles and Blanche (Edmond) McGrew. She married Frank Henson on August 26, 1955 in Peoria and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2005 in Peoria. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. Shirley is survived by her son David Henson of Jasper, GA, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including her niece Sandi (Jim) Purtscher of Edwards. She worked in Administration for District 150 for many years before retiring and was a member of First Christian Church in Peoria. Shirley was a member of the Women’s Group at her church and enjoyed garage sales, flea markets, antiquing, tending her flower gardens and spending time with her family and friends. A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. The Rev. Karen Merrick will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Mid-West Affiliate.
