Obituary for Sandra Alberta (VanDyke) Wilson Sandra A. (VanDyke) Wilson of Rockford, Michigan, age 66, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in the comfort of her home with her daughter and sister-in-law by her side, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Sandra was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Gerald “Jerry” and Helen (Stowie) VanDyke on Thursday, August 21, 1952. Sandra worked at Amway for thirty-eight years before her retirement, just one year ago. Sandra enjoyed many things in life— she loved shopping with her sister-in-law Lynn, putting everything in the cart and “sorting it out later.” She also loved cheering for the Detroit Tigers and U of M Football. Sandra was known for her fantastic “one-liners” and her amazing deviled eggs, but Sandra simply enjoyed being with family and friends the most. The love she had for them was truly immeasurable. Sandra is survived by her loving daughter Dena Wilson Ricks (Andy Feuerstein); grandchildren Cole Drye and Aubrey Ricks; father Jerry VanDyke; brothers Tim (Lynn) VanDyke, Bill (Amy) VanDyke; nephews and nieces, Justin (Candice) VanDyke, Katie (Steve) Clevenger, and their children Christian and Sophie, Nicklaus VanDyke, and Jalen (Courtney DeJong) VanDyke and their children Myah and Tavin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen VanDyke; brother Jerry VanDyke; and great nephew Evan Clevenger. Relatives and friends may call on the family during a memorial visitation from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. A private graveside will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park, Grand Rapids, MI.
