Obituary for Ronald Hamlin Ronald Hamlin, 74, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away August 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 25, 1943 in Baltimore, MD to the late William and Regina Hamlin. Captain Ron, as he was known, was a legend in the sportfishing world and a pioneer in billfish conservation; Ron captained sportfishing boats all around the world, but his favorite fishing grounds were in Guatemala. Ron is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 22 years, Gladys Lopez Hamlin; two daughters, Jennifer Z. Lopez, Sylvia D. Lopez.
