Obituary for Roger A Dowell Roger Alan Dowell, age 58, of Murrells Inlet, SC born July 11, 1960, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 after sustaining a work related injury. Born in Buckhannon, WV, he was a son of the late Robert and Audra Dowell. Roger was a 1978 graduate of Buckhannon High School. He was employed with Concrete Material Placement out of Charlotte, NC and worked at the Surfside Beach branch. He was known as “Mr. Fix-It” but most importantly he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Candace Dowell; daughters, Katrina Dowell, Melissa Dowell and spouse Dawn Gray of Greenville, SC, Jennifer Cutright and husband Caleb of Bridgeport, WV; a son, Scott Chenoweth and Heather of Shinnston, WV; a daughter, Jillana Ferguson and her husband Brad of Jane Lew, WV; grandchildren, Isaiah Dendy, Briana Dendy, Kaliyah Crite, Haleigh Sekerchak, Taylor Chenoweth and Lacie Dever; a brother, James Dowell and his wife Louise of Buckhannon, WV; sisters, Camelia Crites and husband Tom of Buckhannon, WV; two step-brothers; two step-sisters, and his best furry friends, Lily and Oreo. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
