OBITUARY Robert Clarence Trainer July 11, 1927 – July 31, 2018 Robert Clarence Trainer, 91, passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2018 surrounded by family and the loving staff at the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana. A patriot above all else, Mr. Trainer proudly served his country as a United States Marine for over 25 years. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 11th, 1927, he enlisted at age 16 and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His passion to serve and defend our great country was his defining characteristic. Receiving two purple hearts following numerous deployments, his love of country and the discipline instilled as a Marine was unwavering until the end. Spending his last years living amongst fellow veterans brought him comfort and the familiar camaraderie he cherished as a Marine. He leaves behind his daughter, Nina Trainer Barbin (husband, H. Jay Barbin); grandchildren, Allison Faith Huber and Andrew Frederick Huber (wife, Joy Laughlin Huber); and great-grandson, Jackson Frederick Huber. A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, August 4th at 12:30 p.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
