Obituary for Robert C. Duncan Robert C. “Bob” Duncan, 83, of Manchester, with his family at his side, departed for his eternal home Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at the Scott County Nursing Center. He was born, April 30, 1935, at the family home east of Manchester. Bob was the son of Russell and Cecile Duncan. He married Martha Flatt, June 22, 1956, at the Eldred Baptist church. She preceded him in death, Nov. 10, 2017. Surviving to cherish his memory are two children, Jeff (Sharma) Duncan of Manchester and Judy (Mike) Wright of Carbondale; three grandchildren, Paul Duncan, Mark and Matthew Wright; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Greenwalt of Carlisle, AR and Wilma (Keith) Collins of Manchester; one brother, Bill (Darlene) Duncan of Manchester; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Thompson. Bob was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran and life-long farmer. He loved working with animals and farming. Following his retirement, Bob enjoyed wood working; making many trucks, wagons and various things. The family will greet friends Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Following a prayer at 3:00 p.m., Bob will be taken to the Manchester Cemetery for a grave side service. Memorials are suggested to the Manchester Cemetery.
