Richard Stephen “Dickie” Self Sylacauga, AL – Funeral service for Richard Stephen “Dickie” Self, 71, will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Radney-Smith Chapel, with Bro. Joe Garner officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL. Mr. Self died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Steve Hampton, Jr.; father, Carl Self; mother, Nellie Pearl Self; father-in-law, Maskon Hamilton; and mother-in-law, Martha Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Janice Hamilton Self; two daughters, April Hampton (Mark) Hamilton and Tammy Hampton McDonald; grandson, Travis Warren McDonald; two granddaughters, Madeline Leigh McDonald, Kennedy Ireland Hamilton; nephew, Chris (Christie) Self; 1 great-nephew; and 3 beautiful great nieces. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com. Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
