Richard L. Clayton, 66, fought a courageous battle with cancer and passed away on Aug. 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his Rocky Ford home. He was born on Aug. 2, 1952 in Walsh, Colorado to James Leroy & Glenda Belle (Robbins) Clayton. Richard married Roberta F. Chowning in 1984 in Walsh. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, mother & father-in-law, Charley and Mable Chowning, and his sister-in-law, Ethel Chowning. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the La Junta Baptist Tabernacle with Reverend Jon Brandt officiating. Interment will follow at the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
