Obituary for Rhea “Dottie” L. Brown Rhea L. “Dottie” Brown, 100, of Rittman, entered into the Lord’s presence Sunday, August 12, 2018. Her faith in Jesus Christ has now become sight, her hope and become a reality as she dwells in God’s eternal love. She was born October 17, 1917 in Beach City, Ohio to the late Logan and Effie Harpster and lived most of her life in Rittman. Dottie graduated from Rittman High School in 1935 and was a piano and organ teacher to hundreds of student for over 50 years. She was a member of the Rittman Grace Brethren Church serving faithfully as the pianist, organist and Sunday School Teach. She was also active in the Haven of Rest Ministries. Surviving are sons, David (Sharon) Brown of Rittman and Jim (Carol) Brown of Mechanicsville, VA; daughters, June (Merlin) Berkey of Boca Raton, FL, Mary Lou (Steve) Alkyer of Wadsworth and Nancy Jones of Rittman; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” Brown; son-in-law, Duane Jones; grandson, Austin Jones; brothers, Woodrow and Dale Harpster; and sisters, Betty Luthy and Dorothy Young. At our mother’s request, private graveside services will be held at Rittman Cemetery with Pastor Bud Olszewski officiating.
