Obituary for Phaedra Ann Regentin Phaedra Ann Regentin was a passionate and resilient person. People have a hard time with her first name, so she went by Ann whenever possible. She was a talented writer who studied several languages. She was also a fine musician and could pick up and play just about any instrument you handed her, including flute, piano and the guitar, she enjoyed composing music as well. She was a history geek and had a knack for DIY. She cultivated a love for animals by keeping pet birds; Happy her red-lored amazon parrot and Sally her Barraband parrot, and would often go outside just to admire the wildlife. Part-way through college, Ann was diagnosed with lupus and was forced to stop taking classes due to extreme fatigue and frequent infections. Throughout her life post-diagnosis, Ann put a lot of effort into optimizing her time so that she could continue to indulge in her hobbies. She kept an air-tight budget by cooking her own food and creating her own things whenever possible. She built a specialized desk to accommodate her physical deficits. She sewed warm skirts for the winter. She was an articulate woman and a talented writer, authoring a novel and numerous short stories, each attracting a small but dedicated fan base. She often played video games, including Mabinogi and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with her son, and composed music for his custom video game projects. Eventually the lupus went into remission but Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer. The cancer turned out to be a very rare atypical form of breast cancer that could not be treated and quickly metastasized.
