Paul Joseph Petrella, Sr., 90, passed away August 5, 2018. Paul lived all his life in Kent, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1987 from Kent Police Department, where he was an officer for over 30 years. Paul was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kent and the FOP. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and fig trees. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Laura (DeLeone) Petrella; son, Matthew Allen Petrella; sisters, Katy Cowan and Frances Francis; brothers, Salvatore and Anthony Petrella. Paul is survived by his daughters, Laura (Edward Ruper) Petrella of Cuyahoga Falls and Ann (Darrell) Guariniello of Stow; sons, Dominic Michael Petrella of Kent and Paul Joseph (Ivana) Petrella, Jr. of Tallmadge; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Privates Services will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. DePeyster St., Kent, OH 44240.
