Orin Arthur Adams, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the age of 79. After battling extensive health conditions for many years, his body had finally had enough; we are grateful that he no longer has to suffer from the excruciating daily pain that has been his constant companion. He was born July 3, 1939 in Rutland, Vermont to Albert Pearl Adams and Margaret Humphry Hunt. He was raised on The Good Promise dairy farm on “POST ROAD” in Rutland, Vermont; where he gained a love for all things agricultural as well as an impeccable work ethic. He graduated from Rutland High School in 1957 and went on to graduate from The Vermont Agricultural and Technical Institute with a degree in Agriculture. He then moved to Utah and attended BYU to continue his education in agriculture. He met the love of his life, Naomi Clara Lopez in Pleasant Grove, Utah. They were married on October 5, 1962 and later sealed for time and for all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on October 9, 1964. He enjoyed a career in the culinary water field for many years and simultaneously enjoyed working in grounds maintenance and mechanical maintenance at the Old Manila 1st Ward Chapel. He and Naomi settled in Pleasant Grove and have raised their family there for almost 60 years. Orin is survived by his loving wife, Naomi, five children, Oranna Adams, Irene Mathusek (Phillip), Christy Morgan Wells, David O. Adams, Donna Baxter (Tyler), 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister Sylvia Adams Seitz, sister-in-law Kathleen Allen Adams, brothers Lewellyn, Leigh (Kathy), Johnathon (Linda) and Walter (Linda) Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Nathan Adams, brothers-in-law John Seitz, Ernest “Indian Red Lopez”, sisters-in-law Joyce Lopez Monaco, Carol Lopez Pritchard, son-in-law Dennis Morgan and two nephews Samuel and Edmund Adams. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manila First Ward Chapel, 3396 North 900 West, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
