Obituary for NANCY HILL (LaMere) Nancy Eileen Hill, 81, of Prince St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 13, 2018 at UP Health System Marquette with her loving family at her side. Nancy was born June 8, 1937 in Negaunee to Fere and Lena (Delarye) LaMere, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1956 and was a lifelong Negaunee resident. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank of Negaunee and also the Negaunee Credit Union. Nancy was a member of the Negaunee Eagles Club where she liked playing BINGO. She also enjoyed her occasional trip to the casino. Nancy loved softball; she was an avid player in her younger years and taught her grandchildren the love of the game. Most of all, Nancy loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she enjoyed cheering them on throughout their sporting and academic careers. Surviving are her three daughters: Jackie (Scott) Olinske, Liz (Steve) Wills and Kathy (Debbie Zummak) Hill, all of Negaunee; three grandchildren: Katie (Joshua) Anttonen, Tyler (Lexi) Olinske and Kyle Wills; three soon-to-be-born great-grandchildren; two brothers: Gordon (Viola) LaMere and Larry (Sandy) LaMere; three sisters: Delores LaMere, Donis (Don) DeLong and Judy (Jerry) Williams; a sister-in-law, Judy Dobi; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin ‘MJ’ Hill in 2004; her in-laws, Waino and Aune Hill; five sisters: Carmen Barbiere, Margaret Kippola, Lorraine Laituri, JoAnne LaMere and Elaine LaMere; her brother, Robert LaMere; and four half-siblings: Alvin, Clarence, Loretta and Louise. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 16th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. George Olinske officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 pm until the time of services at 4:00 pm at the funeral home on Thursday, and also at a dinner reception immediately following services at the Immanuel Lutheran Church fellowship hall. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers for their loving care: Aunty Judy Williams, and Jeremy, Karen and all of the staff at Bell Medical.
