Morris J. Ferraro, 98, passed away at home in Garwood July 30, 2018. Morris was born on July 4, 1920 in Hillside, NJ and resided in Garwood for 55 years. Morris enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific during WWII. After being discharged form the Navy, Morris worked as an inspector of weights and measures. He worked with his brothers, Sam and Andy, at the family fruit basket store in Elizabeth, and also owned the produce concession at Ideal Market in Westfield. Morris is survived by his son Joseph and his wife Sue, his daughter Carol Ann, 3 grandchildren, Cory, Darren, and Nicole, and his great-granddaughter, Isabella. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Valentina Benton for the wonderful care she gave to Morris. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 2, at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. W, in Cranford from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Church, 325 Second Ave. in Garwood on Friday, August 3, at 10 am at. Followed by Interment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kindred Hospice would be welcomed.
