Miriam Johnson Mitchell Virginia Beach – Miriam Johnson Mitchell of Virginia Beach passed away on August 25, 2018 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Mitchell was born on September 6, 1922 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Willis A. Johnson and Lillian Ward Johnson and was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Mitchell. She is survived by daughters Patricia Swoope (Louis) and Lisa E. Miller (Brian) granddaughters Michele Carter, Tricia Swoope, Caylan Everton, Haley Everton and great granddaughter Sydney Swoope. Miriam Mitchell was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church for over 60 years. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Services to be officiated by Pastor Prentiss Goldwick. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Plaza Rescue Squad and Va. Beach Volunteer Rescue.
