Obituary for Michael Ray Strickland Services for Michael Ray Strickland, age 64 of Lindale, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home with Judy Staton officiating. A private interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery. Michael died on August 22, 2018 in Tyler. He was born on April 7,1954 in Dallas, Texas to Bryan Weldon Strickland and Helen Virginia (Minton) Strickland. Michael came to live at Champagne Inc. in 1990. He has many friends there. Michael loved music. His favorite singer was Elvis Presley. He was Elvis in the yearly talent shows and always received a standing ovation. He was so good the Champagne’s purchased an Elvis costume for him including the wig which he loved to wear. Michael participated in Special Olympics, swimming, baseball, basketball & track and field. He loved going to Summer camp at Camp Hey Day. Michael enjoyed the ARC Dance, where he could show off his dance moves. He attended Lindale First United Methodist Church. He was always concerned about his fellow house mates and friends. Michael had a big heart. He was proceeded in death by his mother in 1987 and his father in 2010. Michael is survived by his brother, Nick Strickland and wife, Linda of Plano; step-mother, Jo Ann Strickland of Tyler; and many friends at Champagne Inc. Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Jones, Penn Luther, Duane Smith, Caleb Burgess, Ernie Brubaker, and Manuel Gonzales.
