Obituary for Melva Freeze Johnson Melva Freeze Johnson age 92, of Mena passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 in Mena, Arkansas. Mrs. Johnson was born October 18, 1925 in Smackover, Arkansas to the late Forrest Freeze and the late Pinky Bradley Freeze. She was married to the late Herbert Johnson for sixty-two years. Together they owned and operated G&W Water Well Drilling company. Melva loved to read but hated to cook tho, she was a good cook. She enjoyed being a homemaker and kept her home immaculate. Melva was very generous with her time, affection and played Penuckle very well. She enjoyed teaching people about the Bible. Melva had the “Freeze” sense of humor until the very end. She was a loving and thoughtful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by: Son: Edward Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma Daughter: Judy Larru and husband Richard of Mena, Arkansas Daughter-in-law: Janet Johnson of Mena, Arkansas Grandchildren: Lisa Rose, Jason Goodner, Tanya White, Jolie Fender, Adreinna Purdy and Emily Bartow Twelve great-grandchildren Brother: Richard Freeze and wife Sugar of Hartford, Arkansas Sister-in-law: Stella Freeze Numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents Forrest and Pinky Freeze., husband Herbert Johnson, son, Neal Johnson, five brothers, and three sisters. Mrs. Johnson was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena. Memorial will be planned at a later date.
