Obituary for Maurine Ann Cordes Maurine A. Cordes, age 87, of Grand Haven passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Mercy Hospital. She was born January 25, 1931 in Muskegon to Earl and Ilah (Miller) Goodwin. Maurine graduated from Muskegon High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes. On June 20, 1959 she married Don Cordes and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2011 after 51 years of marriage. She enjoyed bowling, golf, crafts and traveling. She is survived by three children: Michael (Laurie) Cordes of Nunica, Shari (Steven) Pearce of Galesburg, and Timm (Teresa Freese) Cordes of Muskegon; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Goodwin, sister-in-law, Kathleen Goodwin; brother-in-law, Robert Reynolds and her parents, Earl and Ilah. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 7, 2018 at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes with Rev. Lou Grettenberger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions in memory of Maurine may be given to the United Methodist Church of the Dunes or Harbor Hospice.
