Mary Ann Rector Hammer September 12 1943 August 19 2018 (age 74)

Mary Ann Rector Hammer, 74, of Mount Holly, went to be with Jesus Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Levine Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville. She was born in Spartanburg County, SC, daughter of the late Nathaniel John and Beatrice Collins Rector. Those left to cherish her memory include her son Taft Hammer and his wife Michele; granddaughters Kayla Hossler and her husband Josh and Keri Canipe and her husband Jerry; great-granddaughters Lilli and Riley Canipe; brother John Rector; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life, officiated by Rev. Max Pendleton, will be held 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 21 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mt. Holly. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
