Obituary for Marie Swinney Church Hill – Marie Swinney , age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 9, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from the Hawkins County Press and from Indian Path Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Maude McCann; sister, Carolyn Sampson; daughter, Donna Armstrong; and grandson, Bobby Hawkins. Marie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Verlin Swinney; daughter, Robin (Larry) Hawkins; son, Alan Vaughn; step-daughter, Debbie (David) Kindle, grandchildren, Brandon Armstrong, Steven Hawkins, Austin (Ashley) Vaughn, Hunter Vaughn, and Katie Vaughn; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Dee (Jerry) Bledsoe, Barbara (Charlie) Ward, Janice (James) Archard, Sarah Hunt; brother, Jerry McCann; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Tri-Cities Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM with the Pastor Earnest Steffey officiating.
